Hello! So this is a kinda different post here. It's been some time that some people have been asking me what graphic mod do i use, and always was a bit hard to explain it because it's not just one mod, it's quite a few of them and also some configs.
Ok, in short terms what i use is:
And now let's breakdown what exactly they do and what configs i use in some of them:
This is practically the core of this graphics, it's a timecyc.dat that uses realistic neutral colors for your gtasa, in the C1 Shuto map you can see a drastic difference using this mod. You will see that has two versions, one that needs the 24h TimeCycle and one that is just a normal timecyc.dat, i use the normal one, but if you want to use 24h, go on, i don't see much difference.

It pretty much adds the best skybox mod to gta sa, there's not much to say about it, download it now!
Junior_Djjr has finally fixed the added textures not having zwritethreshold applyed to them in his extended version, now you can use it without problems :D I still use the official one just because i'm more used it and it's kinda more consistent imo.
If you downloaded the official one you have to use the config made for Real Linear Graphics, the extended version already comes with some good settings, just drag the skygfx folder to your modloader folder and it's done.
As i said SkyGfx fix this horrible thing that gta sa does to transparency things that you've probably seen on many other customs maps:
And also puts some awesome reflections to cars, if your config comes with the vehiclePipe = Env, change it to PS2 in the vehicle pipe to have the cool car reflections.

Now this is a tricky one, the purpose to this is to increase your draw distance, problem is that is quite heavy for some computers depending on what config you want, what i use is that:
Use the default one that already comes in the Project2DFX folder, open the SALodLights.ini and go to the DrawDistanceChanger section, and set the enable from 1 to 0
Now you have to go to the IDETweaker section and change the "AllNormalObjectsDrawDistance" to a value that your computer can handle it, i like to use something between 600.0 ~ 800.0 in general, but depending the map i'm playing on, i would have to increase this value, now go to the "TimedObjectsDrawDistance" and set the exact same value you setted before.
Using the "IDETweaker" to change the draw distance and not the "DrawDistanceChanger" is perfect for custom maps that doesn't have lods, because the mod will force these models no matter what to be rendered within these values that you seted, a perfect example also is Cadence Island, for this map I setted 1500.0, yeah, quite a large number isn't it xD:
like I said, it's something that varies a lot from map to map, in a casual gameplay I just leave it at 600~800 generally.

And that's it for ambiance graphics, i also use two textures mod: the classic Overdose Effects that probably everyone knows it xD and the Proper Vegetation Retex
That is exactly what I was looking for! Keeping the original low poly graphics shining, thanks a lot for explaining it so well!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, man! I also love the original low poly look of gta sa, enbs and other heavy graphic effects are a bit too over exaggerated to the game imo.
